SAP S/4HANA Analytics

Operational reporting is undergoing change. The implementation of S/4 can produce a quantum leap for the areas of reporting and planning. In certain setups, an SAP BW on HANA or BW/4HANA is no longer required for these purposes.

In the S/4 system, SAP delivers predefined virtual data models (VDM), which provide a good basis for operational reporting. The technological basis consists of nested ABAP CDS views to map a multidimensional data model. These data models include definitions of filters, prompts and permissions.

SAP continues delivering the familiar standard extractors in the S/4 system. The CDS view extractors offer the possibility of an optimised data transfer and of using the same technological basis as for the operational reporting. Loading can be initialised without posting having to be interrupted and therefore without disruption to operations.
